Cheerio!

Welcome! This summer we have a big trip planned to Cambridge, England. We're leaving in about two and a half weeks and planning is in full swing for our trip. I can't wait to get everything in order.

We're going to stay in Cambridge while Mark does some collaborative work at the University of Cambridge. We're filling our weekends and evenings with short trips to touristy and awesome places like Bath, York, London, Windsor, and of course the fine town of Lingwood! Plans are still underway but I'll be updating as they come into place.

Some of the assumptions we are making while planning are:

  • We will get to go back. We're not planning this trip as if it's a once-in-a-lifetime chance. It may indeed be such, but we're planning with the assumption that we will, in our lifetime, get to go back to the UK and explore under difference circumstances at a different point in our life. So while deciding how to spend our time and money, we're not letting the "we must do everything!" bug get to us.
  • We will need to rest. We're there for a decent amount of time and Mark is going to be working, so we're planning in time for actual rest so we don't end up cranky and limping through some 1,000 year old castle in desperate need of a Starbucks and a snack.
  • We will have the chance to do things we've always wanted to do, so we're going to do them. Mark's going to get to drive a car on the left side of the road. I'm going to go to platform nine and three quarters and I will get to see castles that real people lived in.

I hope you enjoy reading about our adventures! We'll also be posting pictures once we have good pics to post! For now, I'll leave it at a friendly.... Cheers!
